Anthropos India Foundation (AIF) is a trust registered in Delhi since October 2011. Anthropology is one of the most vibrant and fascinating subjects. It deals with communities both big and small and people from all walks of life. It engages with people and communities for solving various social issues by furthering understanding from an ‘emic’ perspective and respecting local cultures and ecology. The philosophy, theories, concepts, and methods of anthropology have made notable contributions in every field, be it law, human rights, public health, education, and child rights. The aim of AIF is to promote the discipline of anthropology, its philosophy, and methods. It also aims to conduct anthropological research, including applied, visual, and action research.

Childhood matters, and childhood experiences play a crucial role in shaping adulthood. These experiences influence personalities, attitudes, and actions. The current situation is grim, as crimes against children are on the rise, and child rights are violated every second in this vast country. Every child has the right to a safe, healthy, and happy childhood. This digital magazine, Childhood Matters, aims to promote the creative articulation of children and seeks to disseminate knowledge and information related to child rights and protection.

We are publishing Childhood Matters for the well-being of children to bring a positive impact on society. The magazine follows a participatory approach, involving all stakeholders: children, parents, teachers, child welfare activists, child protection professionals, and everyone concerned about children. Contributions can take various forms, including poems, stories, illustrations, paintings, podcasts, short films, images, and more.

We recognize the existence of multiple childhoods shaped by intersections of caste, class, gender, ethnicity, religion, and other specific contexts. Keeping diversity in mind, we strive to create meaningful, useful, and impactful content. This is a small effort by the AIF team to make childhood a better experience.
